Overall I like your discussion point Ricdic and its better to get this stuff out in the open and discuss it, for the greater good and longer term development etcą
ą In this spirit I will share some thoughts with you below. An initial view is to set an informal code of conduct for reporting of listed stocks etc. I donĘt take anything said personally; however I do feel I need to respond in a public manner:
1) First off a correction: EMFI Manager did say to investors that there would be no dividends for 6-20 months and the reasons why. Through planning and good fortune it was closer to 6 months than 20, so well done EMFI Manager. What else did he need to say/report? It was communication, but not one anyone liked much for sure.
2) You should also view the market place on its merits and balance your patch day statements (I know all that out of game time needs to be put to use ;) An example of positive actions would be that investors spoke up on AATP, EMFI and ISSO and shareholder pressure has had a positive effect on corporation management (Shares were de-listed (and then re-listed when issues sorted), 2 changes of CEO and improved reporting and increased/initiated buy back orders). In the great Ying and Yang of the business world it is also worth saying what has gone right with the markets as well.
3) Importantly, mis-communication is almost as bad as non communication and what you have just mentioned has damaged the EMFI brand in my opinion. You have not used timescales or actual names (thereby confusing previous actions with current ones), or given credit for improved transparency or recent trends. To set the record straight, I have done my best to respond to the market place on increased disclosure and posts and yet there are posts in this thread that seem worried about EMFIĘs stability now I report a lot and only have had a couple of comments in EMFI threads before they are buried under the avalanche of new IPOs and the anti-Trit market maker posts et al. So it is difficult to measure how much people report atm, fair point for discussion on how we improve this for sure.
4) I noticed there is a lack of your own related corporations in the analysis ;) I have an issue and will eve mail you in game to improve ōcommunicationö as it is not relevant to the public at large.
Overall should we jump to the next stage of eve market development and agree a voluntary industry basic code of reporting/conduct? Worthy of another thread, and help me out here, IĘm trying to be positive ;) The only such codes that exist are the stock market listing codes and if companies are dropped then itĘs still the investors that get beaten up, so how else can we help each other improve?
On another constructive note: If anyone would like to offer suggestions on how I can improve EMFIĘs reporting standard then please contact me with suggestions:, in game or at http://emfi.blogspot.com/ Our recent portfolio even discloses what our most recently received dividend amounts have been, so IĘm not sure how I can take this any furtherąsuggestions please
Hope this is the sort of response you wanted me to produce Ricdic? :) (Edited to add direct link)
